I love breads particulary American bread, Croissant, pizza breads, spanish bread, etc. I love to eat these during snack time or even breakfast for that matter. I am not picky on choosing breads that I like to eat for as long as it is soft, chewy and newly baked. When I was in highschool, I love to buy “pandesal” in the morning and combine it with butter or cheese. Those were the days I love to reminisce when it comes to bread.
I was delighted to have been invited to a Bread Appreciation afternoon by Chef Vanessa, who happens to be a schoolmate of mine. She did not change a bit because she was still that charming and witty lady I knew way back in highschool,
“Get Bready with Craft breads” – A Bread appreciation afternoon with Dabawenya Artisan Baker Ms. Vanessa O. Pacheco, owner of craft Breads and Pastries was held at RBG Bar and Grill, Park Inn by Radisson Davao last February 2, 2020.
General Manager Ma’am Em Mauhay Rosales gave her opening remarks and welcomed everyone.
During the Forum, she gave a brief but informative talk about the World of breads and how she really started. It was not an easy for her because she needs to learn a lot and be equipped about baking breads. Based on her years of expertise, she wants to educate Filipinos on the art of making good quality breads which she focused and put her heart into. She enrolled in a Baking Arts Program in Toronto Canada where it inspired her more and continue her greatest passion.
She also had a demo showing us how to distinguish the taste of Sourdough from prefermented dough and Straight dough.
Such an inspiring story from a Chef who continued baking good quality breads and proudly sharing her knowledge to others as well.
Then the most exciting part was the tasting of different breads and pastries prepared for us which we really loved. These were Brioche French toast, Focaccia Pesto Pizza Sticks, Sandwich bar, Pulled Pork Ragout Sliders and a lot more.
The hotel collaborated with Davao Bread Artisan Ms Vanessa Pacheco of Craft Bread And Pastries and her delicious breads will be served during the hotel’s daily buffet breakfast.
