The owner, a hardworking father, Mr. Benjamin Lao, made it all happened as he decided to till the unproductive 5-hectare land that his father left him. He is known to be a miracle worker because in his own hands, he gave it all and there is no question why his farm is a proof of his successful ability as a farmer. Not just a farmer but a man of determination where he put into practiced all his learning about natural farming.
His years of experience and knowledge from doing his research enhanced his skills. His resourcefulness helped him to maximize his means of income and by then he was selling natural waste materials that can be used as fertilizers known as “vermicompost”.
Because of his achievements, he was later appointed as Magsasaka Siyentista (Farmer Scientist) by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development under the Department of Science and Technology.

We got a chance to visit their production facilities. It is very clean and spacious area where you can see all the machines and way of processing the products one by one. We were not allowed to go inside without wearing a proper suit that is very clean and can be worn only once you get inside. I guess this is a strong assurance again that their products are safe. Even their workers inside strictly observed such practice.
As visitors, we were warmly welcomed by their staff. We had lunch and it was a bountiful feast because they served as with healthy food. The ice cream was also nutritious because it was organically made and not too sweet at all. I felt truly satisfied after having a good lunch.
We also had a short but memorable tour around the huge farm. All we can say was all praises to the owners as they made their farm all natural and wonderful place to live and earn from. They have also farm animals like goat, rabbits and ducks in the farm.
Because of the demand for his products, LIFI established two branches to Donnabelle Bakeshop. One is located at Bansalan’s local town while the other has been operating recently in Digos City.
